Dr. Christine Hansen, C.Psych.

Dr. Christine Hansen, Psychologist, Durham PsychologistsDr. Christine Hansen, C.Psych. is a registered psychologist in, Clinical, Counselling and Rehabilitation Psychology. She is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and also a member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA). Her primary client population includes adults (18+) and couples. She obtained her doctorate in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto. Training in Gestalt Therapy and other psychodynamic therapies in a group setting were obtained with psychiatrist, Dr. Henry Fenigstein. She has also received training in Traumatic Incident Reduction Techniques and Cognitive Processing for Trauma. In addition to Cognitive Behavioural and Gestalt techniques, she often incorporates techniques from Solution- Focused Therapy. Relaxation Training and Mindfulness Strategies may be included as an additional adjunct to therapy.


Dr. Hansen has had exposure to a wide variety of settings including hospitals, mental health and rehabilitation clinics and community. She has been in private practice for over 22 years at the Markham Stouffville Health Centre. Dr. Hansen has provided psychological assessments and therapy to Insurance companies, WSIB, Veteran Affairs, the Toronto Headache and Pain Clinic and Maxabilitation. She has been an EAP service provider to the Metropolitan Police, The Bank of Montreal, and the Ontario Victim Distress Centre and continues to provide assessment and counselling services to RCMP members.
